Mardi Gras beads and how much fun they can be!!

Kayla and Jordan received some Mardi Gras beads from Angela, a friend of mine from work. From the minute they saw them the fighting was on. Luckily I had four necklaces so we could even them out where they each had 2 different colors. Jordan just liked wearing them....the blue one was his favorite!!! (He loves saying this phrase right now....."This is my favorite"). Kayla also wore them, but she liked stuffing them in a car for safe keeping.

They also have been enjoying that they can now go in circles in our house because we no longer have the gates up!!

Getting me, Getting me!!!! This is one of the things that you will hear Jordan say. We play this as a nightly game before going upstairs to go to bed.

Somersaults and new friends

On Tuesday we had a few new friends over to play. We met Max (will be 4 in March) and Katy (16 months) a few weeks ago when we accidentally got locked out of our house.

Carmen (their nanny) was kind enough to let us into their house while we waited. The kids had a grand time playing together. They were so cute. Max was making hot chocolate at the play kitchen. He also thought that it would be fun to see how many somersaults he could do in our family room from one end to the other. Kayla and Jordan also got in on the fun.

They all gave hugs and even some kisses were shared before Max and Katy left. We hope to get together again soon. It will be nice for the kids to have some friends in the neighborhood, especially since they only live a few doors away!!

Taco time

We have had tacos in the past....the kids don't really care for them (not sure why). So this time I decided that maybe if I made it fun....by letting them put each ingredient on their plate....they would eat.

Enjoying their tacos....which basically ended up with them eating a lot of cheese!!!!!

Our security gates are gone

On Saturday Jeromy decided that he was going to take our gates down that separate the kids from our office. They had recently figured out that they could climb on their rocking chairs and go over the gate. I was a little scared about it because this is the one room that I knew I could put something in and it wouldn't get touched. Now no room is safe!!!!!

Here is Kayla standing on her rocking chair

A few fun pics of the kids playing:

Jordan building a "tall tower"

Funny story: Kayla's baby has a pink headband that is attached. I was trying to put it on the baby's head correctly and Kayla made sure to tell me that it does not go around her head, but instead is supposed to be a bracelet so that Kayla can carry her baby around on her wrist.

Dress-up is always fun...no matter what outfit you choose!!!

There have been a couple of times in the last week that I have taken pictures of the kids as they dressed up.

Jordan as a firefighter....It looks as if he is trying to tickle me. :)

Kayla as Minnie Mouse....I love the little white gloves

Kayla decided that she wanted to be Snow White and Jordan at first wanted the Tinkerbell outfit on. After I put it on he started fussing that he really wanted to put the Cinderella dress on. So that is what I put on him.

See the Tinkerbell headpiece? He wanted something on his head just like Kayla but we don't have a Cinderella tiara yet....I am saving it until a little later to give to Kayla (along with the Cinderella shoes).

Jordan also wanted some shoes on.....so Kayla decided she would help "Bubby" with his shoes. These shoes are so girly.....they are from Kayla's Sleeping Beauty outfit.

Now on to Spiderman and Sleeping Beauty

Mail from Mickey

A few weeks ago some friends of ours took their daughter to Disney World. I had asked Kara if she would send a postcard to Kayla and Jordan saying it was from Mickey. She gladly agreed and this is the reaction we got to our Mickey mail. ( I think they were a little confused and not sure what to think as you can see from the video)

Love and Hearts

Happy Valentine's Day!!

On Thursday the kids had their Valentine's Day party at daycare. They received a lot of candy and even a stuffed animal from one of the other children. ( Do you remember when we were young and all we gave and received were the actual valentine cards---and maybe a sucker or stick of gum!!). We had 2 full bags of cards and candy!!!!

They were so excited when I picked them up because they each got to take home a very cute balloon.

Here are their Valentine outfits:

Shakin' it with Grandpa Elvis

Since we were in town for my sister's shower we stayed with my Dad Saturday night. The kids had so much fun dancing and jumping around while my Dad sang karaoke.

Look at Jordan shake his booty!!!!!

I liked Kayla's dancing.....it was like she was in a "Maniac" video (Am I dating myself? Yeah, I am an 80's child).

This was the first time that the kids decided to call my Dad Grandpa Elvis. I was thinking that I needed a name to differentiate him from their other Grandpa. It has stuck and I think that my Dad gets a kick out of it when he calls and the kids say "Hi, Grandpa Elvis".

Michelle's Baby Shower

My sister is due on March 21st with her first child. We are very excited....she is having a boy. We have 2 other nieces so this will be our first nephew (and a boy playmate for Jordan).

34 weeks and look at the belly :)

I helped put on my sister's shower along with her best friend Heather. I thought that it went pretty well. There were about 13 people that came and that was plenty for my sister's house.

The theme for her nursery is Winnie the Pooh so that is what we did the shower as.

I took a few pictures of her nursery:

Kayla got in on the fun by also playing one of the games

She received a lot of gifts:

In the invitation I had asked for people to bring books instead of a card........Michelle and Ben will have a hard decision on what book to read to baby Joe. :) Kayla kept taking the books to try and read herself. It did keep her occupied, though.

The hostesses with the guest of honor:

After the shower, my sister's dog Presley was let downstairs. Kayla had a good time running around with him. He hasn't always got along with the kids, but it seems the older they get the better he is with them. Here are some pics of him licking her and look how happy she looks.

Snow Day!!!!

Today we decided to go out and play in the snow. Last Wednesday it snowed 12 inches and since the weather has been below freezing the snow has continued to grace us with its presence.

Something funny that happened was that we accidentally got locked out of the house (with even Jasmine-our dog). I went to close the door not thinking that Jeromy had turned the lock on the door knob and as I pulled the door to close I thought I should check it first and before I knew it the door slammed shut.......great, now what to do...I had no phone or key to the house. I began to walk up and down the street knocking on neighbor's doors hoping to find someone home. Finally, there happened to be a women pulling a couple of kids in a wagon. I asked to use her phone and it all worked out...she was a nanny for the kids...let us into their house and Kayla and Jordan got to play with some new neighbors while we waited for Jeromy to come and let us back into our house.

We did end up playing outside....the snow was very crunchy and they had a hard time walking.

After we were done with playing outside, I decided to bring some of the snow inside. Don't worry it was clean snow. We were making snowballs and they figured out that they could eat it.....and they enjoyed it way too much!!!

In the first video they kept calling the snowballs "cheeseballs". It was funny. :)
