We're off to see the Wizard

Happy Halloween!!! Today was a very busy day. Kayla and Jordan got to dress up twice....at daycare for a costume parade and later on for actual trick-or-treating. Katie and Jason had agreed to watch the kids and let them sleep over so that Jeromy and I could go to a Halloween party (pics to follow in an upcoming post). We decided to trick-or-treat in their neighborhood and Lauren went with us to a few homes.

The words of the evening were.....witch, pumpkin patch (this is what Jordan would say anytime he saw a pumpkin), boo, treat. At the end of the night we gave them a few m&m's to satisfy their candy fix. It was a very successful night and Kayla and Jordan had a great time. Thanks Katie and Jason for watching our kids!!!!

Manzella Halloween Visit

Over the weekend we visited my Sister, Brother-in-law, and Dad. My sister had a Halloween party on Saturday and some of our family and many of her friends were there. Continuing with The Wizard of Oz theme, Jeromy went as the Mayor of Munchkin City and I was a munchkin. My Aunt was a lady from the 20's and you can try to figure out what my Dad was (????). My sister was Sally from Nightmare before Christmas and Ben was a hillbilly.

There was this 3 year old boy named Andrew that took to Kayla right away. I think that he is in love with the movie so he kept calling Kayla "Dorothy". He even tried to help her put her shoes on when they fell off (which was quite frequently).

I had to take a picture of my sister's brother-in-law. He made most of his costume and it took 2 weeks. Isn't it awesome!!!

New family photos

I am very excited to let you all in on some new photos that we got taken a few weeks ago from a friend of ours that is just starting up a new photography business. We had them done on Butler University's campus.....and I think that they turned out great (considering that the kids had NO nap that day). If you are interested in getting pictures taken contact Amy-----she is wonderful.

Twins Halloween Party

On Thursday night we went to Fishers Library to enjoy a night with some other twin parents and their children for a Halloween party. Jeromy had to work late which meant that I had the little munchkins by myself. I had some resistance when putting on Jordan's costume, but it was good practice at making sure that they fit correctly before Halloween. They looked adorable in their costumes. Kayla is Dorothy and Jordan is the Scarecrow from The Wizard of OZ. All of the kids looked so cute and it was neat to see all of the different costumes. Let me just say that it is always a challenge when I am alone with 2 toddlers who like to dart :) The kids got to color, eat chocolate chip cookies (which is normally a treat for dessert) and march in a parade. I think that they had a good time and we look forward to next year's party.

During the evening Jordan made a new friend.......what a little soccer player he is.

The kids did have a grand time marching in the parade....during the end of this video you will see Kayla a little freaked out that she can't find me.

Pumpkin painting

Today I got brave and decided to let the kids paint their pumpkins that they got yesterday. It actually went better than I thought. Not too messy......and they had so much fun. I let them pick out colors (so it was educational as well). Of course, Jordan picked green as his first color of choice. Everything these days has to be green (it is his favorite color). We are even going to be painting his room that color soon. Kayla actually picked blue first and then purple. We are painting her room purple (which she picked out the shade of).

Tuttle's Orchard

Today was quite the busy day!!! It started off with Kindermusik at 9:30am after which we went to the orchard to meet up with other families from my twins club. We had invited our friends Kara and Sophia to join us at the orchard.

It was a very nice place...not very crowded.....and had lots of things that toddlers could do. We got to play in an enclosed play area for about 20 minutes before we had to get started with our tour.

We then hopped onto the tractor for our hayride into the pumpkin patch.

Once there we each got to pick out a pumpkin.

We then rode back to go and pick out 4 apples each. I was a little disappointed that we didn't get to pick them off of the trees, but it turned out all right. They had them in a huge box.

Fun with rice!!!!

We went to my friend Alyssa's house for a playdate with a bunch of other moms and kids from my twins club. Alyssa put rice in the water table outside and the kids had a blast playing in it.

In celebration of our 9th Wedding Anniversary

Last Monday night while we were in Kansas City Jeromy and I decided to take some time for ourselves without the kids to celebrate our anniversary (a little late). We stayed at this amazing hotel called Chateau Avalon and had a wonderful time.

We also enjoyed just taking it easy and really took in our environment (which at this stage of our life is very difficult to do). We visited The Plaza in Kansas City, MO and also this really cool museum (we could only walk around the grounds because of the museum being closed). There were many amazing sculptures.

On our way back to my sister's to pick up Kayla and Jordan we decided to stop in Jefferson City (the capital of MO) to take a few pics of the Capit0l.

Bouncing Balloons

Check out how much fun these balloons can be.....I remember these from when I was a kid. Kayla and Jordan couldn't figure out how to punch with the balloons....they thought this was way more fun!!!!

Our hiding place

The other day I caught the kids playing in the tupperware cabinet. I decided to play along with them.

Let's pretend to sleep

The kids started doing this a while back. I don't really know what started it, but when we would open up the doors on the van to get them out of their seats they would have their eyes closed like they were sleeping. Jordan then took it a step further by pretending to snore. Here is an example at its finest in our bed one morning. They have been wanting to get in our covers in the morning. Notice Kayla's major bedhead :)

I'm going to Kansas City...Kansas City here I come!

I have been very busy these last few weeks so I apologize for not posting in a while. This past weekend Jeromy and I went to Kansas City, Kansas to visit some good friends. We met up with another couple and went to the Nascar race at the Kansas Speedway. We had a wonderful time socializing, sharing stories about our kids, and just taking it easy for a few days.

I was very excited when my favorite driver Jimmie Johnson won the race.....Kristie's driver came in second. We had to document the win with a pic of us.

We had a great time with the Flake's and Dailey's. A big thank you goes out to Caleb and Mari for letting us stay at their home for a few days.

Also, we wouldn't have been able to have this enjoyable trip without the help of my sister and brother-in-law. Thanks Michelle and Ben for watching Kayla and Jordan so that we could have some kid-free time!!!!
